| Question_Text | I am enquiring on the permissibility of "blogs". Blogs are websites where people write their thoughts about everyday issues on to the Internet - it is like a Internet based personal diary, which everyone can read. Recently, many Muslims have begun writing blogs, including many sisters. Some of these blogs contain good Islamic content and links, but the sisters also write about their lives in humorous ways, some sisters describe themselves, some laugh at daily issues, some just describe what happened to them that day, etc. These blogs are available for brothers and sisters to read. These people can then leave comments, and then the site owner replies, and full conversations occur between brothers and sisters. Some blogs do contain some good Islamic links, but they also have the thoughts and musings of the site owner. Are such blogs halaal? I find it difficult to understand how haya can be maintained when a sister talks about her daily life for brothers to read and comment on. |
