Fatwa Answer
Assalamualaikum,
I would like to know if it is permissible in Islam to involve in a business which buys and sells tobacco products like cigarettes, Hookah, e-cigarettes, etc, I would really appreciate if you can shed some light on this subject based on Shariah requirement and Islamic Law.

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق
If the intoxicating or impure ingredients are mixed in them then their buying or selling is impermissible and if such ingredients are mixed which are extremely detrimental to the body then it is مکروہ تحریمی Makrooh Tehrimi (close to Haram) otherwise it is مکروہ تنزیہی Makrooh e Tanzihi i.e., permissible. However, it is better to stay away even in the third scenario.

میں یہ جاننا چاہتا ہوں کہ کیا اسلام میں تمباکو کی مصنوعات مثلاً سگریٹ، حقہ، ای سگریٹ، کی خرید وفروخت کا کاروبار جائز ہے؟ براہ کرم شریعت اور اسلامی قانون کی روشنی ڈالیے۔

اگر ان چیزوں میں نشہ آور یا ناپاک اشیاء ملائی جائیں تو ان کی خریدوفروخت ناجائز ہے،اور اگر ایسی چیزیں ملائی جائیں تو جوجسم کے لئے سخت نقصاندہ ہوں تو مکروہ تحریمی ورنہ مکروہ تنزیہی یعنی جائز ہے۔تا ہم تیسری صورت میں بھی احتیاط بہتر ہے۔
