الجواب واللہ ھوا المعین

Allah (SWT) says in the Qur’an:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَأْكُلُوا أَمْوَالَكُمْ بَيْنَكُمْ بِالْبَاطِلِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ تِجَارَةً عَنْ تَرَاضٍ مِنْكُمْ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًا ، وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ عُدْوَانًا وَظُلْمًا فَسَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِ نَارًا وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرًا (النساء : ۲۹)

O ye who believe 

Eat not up your property

Among yourselves in vanities (conceit);

But let there be amongst you traffic and trade by mutual good will:

Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily Allah hath been to you Most Merciful.

وقال تعالیٰ : وَأَنْفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تُلْقُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ إِلَى التَّهْلُكَةِ وَأَحْسِنُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ (البقرۃ : ۱۹۵)

And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do 

good; for Allah loveth those who do good.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَنْ تَرَدَّى مِنْ جَبَلٍ فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ، فَهُوَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ يَتَرَدَّى فِيهِ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا، وَمَنْ تَحَسَّى سُمًّا فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ، فَسُمُّهُ فِي يَدِهِ يَتَحَسَّاهُ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا، وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِحَدِيدَةٍ، فَحَدِيدَتُهُ فِي يَدِهِ يَجَأُ بِهَا فِي بَطْنِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا(صحیح بخاری : کتاب الطب،۵۷۷۸)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلّى الله عليه وسلم: " كَانَ فِيمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ رَجُلٌ بِهِ جُرْحٌ، فَجَزِعَ، فَأَخَذَ سِكِّينًا فَحَزَّ بِهَا يَدَهُ، فَمَا رَقَأَ الدَّمُ حَتَّى مَاتَ، قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: بَادَرَنِي عَبْدِي بِنَفْسِهِ، حَرَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ الجَنَّةَ "(صحیح بخاری :کتاب احادیث الانبیاء، ۳۴۶۳)

Narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA):

“The Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) said whosoever purposely throws himself from a mountain and kills himself, will be in the (Hell) Fire, falling down into it and abiding therein perpetually forever;

whoever drinks poison and kills himself with it, he will be carrying his poison in his hand and drinking it in 

the (Hell) Fire wherein he will abide eternally forever;

and whoever kills himself with an iron weapon, will be carrying that weapon in his hand and stabbing his abdomen with it in the (Hell) Fire wherein he will abide eternally forever.”

(Sahih Al-Bukhari – 5778)

Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said “Amongst the nations before you, there was a man who got a wound, and growing impatient (with its pain), he took a knife and cut his hand with it and the blood did not stop until he died. Allah said, ‘My Slave hurried to bring death to himself, so I have forbidden him (to enter) paradise.”

(Sahih Al-Bukhari – 3463)

In the above verses of the Quraan and Ahadeeth, Allah (SWT) has decreed “haram” the suicide, that is why suicide is “haram”.

The second reason is that all creations of Allah (SWT) including mankind are 

under the sole ownership of Allah (SWT) and usurpation or   interference, in the property of someone else is “haram”. For the same reason suicide is decreed  “haram”.

This should clarify the importance of human life.
