Unemployment Benefits permissible..?

Assalam alaykum,

With all respect, one thing I am very confused about how unemployment Benefits are different from insurance..?

There are percentage of ur salary deduction happened while you are working and if u lose job than they give u unemployment benefit..

Isn't is same scenario if u hit ur car than insurance will pay u damages or any other insurance scenario..

Purpose of question is not to chalange or debate, but I have less Ilm or no ilm. It's just want to know detail answer if possible. So if it's halal I can apply for it..

Always heard from ulama that insurance is not permissible, so question keep arising how unemployment benefits are permissible..?

How unemployment benefits differ from insurance..?

Jazakallah khair

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق

We are not aware of the details of unemployment allowance offered by the government.

But the insurance is illegal because initially premiums are regularly paid, only after which the insurance company cooperates.

If no accident takes place, the money submitted in premiums just sinks. This practice is similar to gambling.

In case of an accident the insurance company spends on repairs far more that our total deposited premiums, which entail interest.

Gambling and interest are both categorized as “haram”. Therefore, in general insurance policies are illegal and haram”.
