Assalam o Alaikum.

1. I am working in a company for the last five years as Finance manager in
Saudi Arabia.

2. I have obtained all the required degrees, skills and knowledge in halal
way and my employer is satisfied with my work performance Alhumdulillah.

3. I have asked for increments in my salary many times but my employer has
refused due to the overall cost reductions happening in the company. At the
same time, the new hires with less qualification are paid more amount. In
some cases, some employees bring an offer letter from another company and
based on that, the company negotiates their salary and increase it to match
with the external offer they receive.

My question is as follows:

If i bring a fake external offer letter from a friend (only to negotiate my
salary package with my current company), and based on that after mutual
discussions and negotiations, the company agrees to increase my salary. Would
that increase be considered halal?

One important thing to note here is that despite the fake offer letter, the
company still reserves the right to reject any salary increase and if they
agree to give that, it is after mutual consent. All my degrees are genuine
and i am.performing my duties properly. Please advise. Jaza kallah
